REON’s Residency, an independent small-scale programme in Porta on the island of Corfu (Greece), offers an open-ended environment for work, research and play. The residency is for 2–5 weeks between June and mid-September–October 2027.
During a period of 10–30 days, selected artists will develop a project for local children (ages 5–13), including the required number of sessions.
The residency welcomes artists with teaching experience or those whose specific projects could benefit from the perspective of children, creating a dynamic exchange that sparks curiosity on both sides. English and Greek can be used for verbal communication.
Residents have the option to undertake a combined residency, dedicating part of their time to a project with the local children. This format allows for an exchange, where both the artist and the children can learn from and inspire each other.
Eligibility
REON is keen to welcome professionals such as artists, researchers, designers, architects and other practitioners working across diverse approaches to clay. Recent graduates are welcome to apply. While the programme centres on clay, REON also considers proposals that do not directly engage with the material, but respond thoughtfully to the island’s context.
Support
REON provides accommodation, access to a fully equipped ceramics studio, basic materials, facilitation and collaborative support, and transportation costs for the Artist Educator Residency or a Combined Residency.
