We’re excited to announce the first edition of the Writer’s Grant under Splash Catalyst, our initiative supporting emerging curatorial and critical practices. Applications are open to two emerging writers working across art and visual culture, including art writers and critics, art historians and researchers, curators with a writing practice, journalists, academics, independent scholars, editors, cultural commentators, and practitioners across design, architecture, material culture and visual studies. We welcome applicants from varied academic and professional backgrounds. A formal degree is welcome but not mandatory. The grant will support two emerging writers in developing original, research-led writing on art and visual culture through six months of editorial mentorship, a ₹50,000 grant, research and editorial support, and publication through Gallerie Splash. For this edition, applications and final submissions will be accepted in English only. We’re conscious that this limits access, and we hope to open future editions to writers working in more languages. Applications are now open. Apply through the link in bio.
