The Photographers' Gallery
What makes an archive and who decides how they are looked after and their value? Submit your proposals for our open call for contributors to speak at our one-day archive event on Friday 16 April 2027. 'Whose Archive is it Anyway?' is the first in a three-part series of events exploring the future of archives and archiving. Traditionally, stories of culture and society have been held and told by institutional collections. But what about the everyday material that is hidden, forgotten or displaced outside of these traditional records? We welcome submissions of real-life experiences from people interested in, or already creating, holding and taking care of archives in a non-institutional setting. We're looking for speakers that challenge or answer points related to the future of archives. Deadline for applications: 1 November 2026 Visit our website for more information on the event and what to include in your proposals.
